B.O.B EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
CHAMP MAGAZINE
Nathan “Hollywood” Adom

CHAMP: B.o.B what’s going on homie?
B.o.B: I’m doing pretty good Nathan, how do you feel?
CHAMP: Good. April 27th is going to be a special day for you, it is actually going to be a special day for people to mark on their calendar because your album will be dropping. How is the anticipation level for you so far?
B.o.B:It is surreal, it’s really good to finally have an album out, something in stores and to basically lose my album virginity.
CHAMP: “The Adventures of Bobby Ray” is the title we are rocking with. If you could walk us through a few of the adventures the fans can witness you go through on this album.
B.o.B: I feel like there is not anything musically that I haven’t done on the album in terms of what I like. All the music that I like I feel like I have spit it out on this outlet and put a lot of emotion to it.
CHAMP: The single “Nothing on You” which is featuring Bruno Mars is a smash to the point where your album was pushed up. In this day and age a lot of peoples albums are pushed back but the anticipation surrounding your album forced the album to be pushed from May to April. What did that mean to you as an artist to see that you coming up as a newbie in the game is getting your album pushed forward rather than back?
B.o.B: It means that something special is definitely happening. That never happens I have never heard of that even when I was a youngster reading hip hop magazines, I would always hear about albums getting pushed back. It was even to the point where artist would even do promo’s that revolved around the fact that their albums got pushed back.
CHAMP: You produce as well, I know Kanye did a production on the album but is that the only guest appearance of production we have, or did you produce the entire album?
B.o.B: Dr Luke did some stuff, T.I did some stuff, Eminem actually produced a little bit on “Airplanes Pt 2”. Basically I did a bit of the production on the album but overall everything came out pretty good, everything was a pretty smooth process getting the songs for the album and everything cleared.
CHAMP: I also heard about the joint you mentioned Eminem helped out with “Airplanes 2”. The joint is definitely crazy but how crazy was that to have Em on your debut album? A lot of people wait years like for instance Weezy has been wanting to work with Eminem and he just got the “Drop the World” and you were able to get Eminem on your first joint. How did that feel?
B.o.B: Surreal because he is one of the hip hop kings in the game so for him to be able to get on your record is a gift, definitely something that never happens. He didn’t have to do that, he didn’t have to get on my song like who am I? Who is B.o.B you know what I mean? Its good because out of all the people to work with me: I had a buzz going but it wasn’t at the level that it is at now, Eminem worked with me and that means a lot, that was a real humbling experience.
CHAMP: After listening to this album what is it that you want the fans to take away once they are done on that last track and they may put it on repeat? What do you want them to take away from the album after listening to its entirety?
B.o.B: I want people to pay attention to emotion more, I want people to pay attention to creativity, I want people to just be balanced. If they are having a fucked up day to be able to put this album on and manage to get everything. I want it to be like the effects that weed has when you are having a bad day, hit a blunt and all of your problems go away. If you have a bad day put B.o.B in your CD player.
CHAMP: “The Adventures of Bobby Ray” I am hearing there is a video game associated with the album as well. If you could speak on the video game concept with “The Adventures of Bobby Ray” and what that is all about.
B.o.B: The video game concept is just a little fun idea. I think it is kind of funny, I look like a black version of “Quagmire” from Family Guy. My huge head look like it is going “Giggity, giggity, giggity.”
CHAMP: April 27th will be the day that “The Adventures of Bobby Ray” drops and “Nothing on You” is the single we got rocking. What is on the follow up and the visual that we can expect coming off the album?
B.o.B: The album when it comes out I feel like we can expect a really solid album. All the art work is there, I feel like people that peep the artwork just that art, that is what we wanted to make it we wanted to make art not just something stereotypical.
CHAMP: Once again appreciated having you here it is a blessing and we are rooting for you to get those sales up and come out with a classic album in a time where we need some classics to come out. Where else can people be more up to date with B.o.B? You are twittering so if you could let the people know where they can follow you and all that?
