POKES(Models): JENNY EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
CHAMP MAGAZINE
The Boy Hollywood

CHAMP: What’s goodie Jenny? What are you up to at the current moment?

Jenny: Hey what up Champ! I’m currently continuing my modeling, dancing, and acting career but now trying to focus more on my music and fashion.

CHAMP: Now you hail from Toronto but got a unique background. Let the people know about your roots.

Jenny: Yes, I am from Toronto born and raised! My unique background consists of some math (smiles) think of a pie chart so it’s half Chinese, quarter Spanish and quarter Jamaican. It’s funny because some days I look more of one culture (been told I looked Spanish) but other times people look at me and say I look mixed up and exotic and then ask what I’m mixed with!

CHAMP: How old are you?

Jenny:  I’m old enough to party and totally legal (over 21). =)

CHAMP: How were you discovered?

Jenny: I was discovered because I’m a crazy; I don’t give a f— kind of individual. I’m a dancer and danced all the damn time like I had ants in my pants (laughs). One day a guy gave me a card and told me he was in entertainment business and that I have a lot of talent and that I should contact him. Of course, I wasn’t that naïve so I held on to the card for a while and asked a few people if they heard about the company. So I waited a little and I heard some good things from reputable people and friends I trusted. So I contacted him cautiously, went to auditions, etc and started doing some big things as well as many music videos.

Then the bigger industry noticed me and I started getting my own work. The rest is really history, so here I am!

CHAMP: What’s some of the work people can recognize you from? (Ads, Mags, Videos etc)

Jenny: It’s funny you ask that, the other day I was at a drug store (Shoppers to be exact) and the make up girl at the counter was looking at me with a weird expression.

The convo was like this:

Me- “Hi can I pay for these?”

Worker- “You look so familiar, wait you’re that girl aren’t you? The dancer and in music videos…”

Me- “Uhh yea probably”

Worker- “Yea, I recognize you from somewhere, I’m trying to figure out where I seen you, did you dance for a big concert?”

Me- “Probably, I performed at the Sean Paul and Neyo concert at Molson Amphitheatre and did many music videos…”

Worker- “Maybe it was both, I know I seen you performing or on TV, that’s cool and your good.”

Me- “Thanks.”

My point with that convo is that many recognize me but sometimes can’t pinpoint where or what I’ve done that they’ve seen me in and its funny cause sometimes I personally want to know.

But here’s a brief list of SOME work I’ve done (hopefully you recognize me):

- Dancer at Sean Paul and Neyo concert

- Dancer for Lady Saw concert

- Dancer for Rich boy concert

- Muchmusic 2008 MMVA Red carpet walking with Akon and Kardinal Offishall

-City TV Breakfast television (modeled on 3 separate occasions)

- Dancer for Flow 93.5fm 5-yr anniversary event

- Muchmusic 2009 MMVA promo commercial

- Modeled twice for Adidas fashion

- Dancer for Guess Clothing store

- Hosted Bobby Valentino boat cruise

- Rihanna “Pon de replay” music video

- JDiggz “Make it hot” music video

- Beenie man “Gimme Gimme” music video

CHAMP: Before the modeling thing what were you doing or what are you still doing?

Jenny: Before much of the razzle and dazzle of modeling, I was and still am a dancer

CHAMP: Now I wanna see how caught up you are about the game. What are your thoughts and views on Weezy impregnating not only Nivea but also Lauren London at the same time?

Jenny: I’m not surprised to say the least. I think it’s going to be straight up drama, Weezy used to deal with Nivea and said he still loved her. As for Lauren London, she’s cool but why did she put herself in that predicament. Weezy already has 2 other kids by different mothers; I guess another 2 aren’t a big deal. Do celebrities use contraceptives anymore? Or did they ever? (Laughs).

CHAMP: Got a favorite artist of 2009? If so, who is it and why?

Jenny: Well for 2009, I had my little phase with The-Dream “radio killa” (dances). I like the hits he be making and the video concepts. I would love to be a featured dancer in American videos by reputable directors!

CHAMP: Name two truths and a lie about yourself.

Jenny: Two truths 1) I pierced my nose myself when I was younger with a clean needle and a little bit of ice, I did it while my parents were sleeping around 3am (giggles) and 2) I don’t drink or smoke at all Yuck!

Now, a lie about myself?! I don’t need to, if you don’t like me how I am well then f— you, straight up!

CHAMP: Now the recession is hitting everywhere, but in the modeling industry are you witnessing any affects of the recession?

Jenny: Yes, I’ve witnessed the affects of the recession; it’s either that or too many cheap people around here! Word to the wise, you can’t hustle a hustler!

CHAMP: Where’s Jenny’s man at?Are you single?

Jenny: Dang, where is he at?! Tell him dinners ready (Laughing) I’m dating. Hope my prince charming comes for me like in those fairytales and treats me like a queen.

CHAMP: What’s the ideal dude for Jenny?

Jenny: The list can honestly go on… (not in particular order) The ideal dude for ME first and foremost is a man not a boy! He’s got to have good manners, nice eyes, good hygiene and teeth. He needs to be understanding and able to control his temper, cause I can get pretty angry too and nothing will ever get solved.

How he looks is important as well, yes it’s true, yeah yeah I can be shallow sometimes (rolls eyes and smiles). Got to be both book and street smart, romantic, thoughtful, has a sense of humour, takes me shopping, and cooks. Good with family and kids, a good lover, provider and friend.

CHAMP: How fair is the modeling world to women in the grand scheme of things? Is there any room for growth?

Jenny: The modeling world in the grand scheme of things is pretty fair in my eyes, but it might not be fair to other women. Yes, I believe there is room for growth.

CHAMP: What can we expect from Jenny in ’09 hustla?

Jenny: You can expect Jenny to be working hard like she does every year, expect nothing less. Each year is different, stay connected and you’ll see. Check out the site or blog (winks).

CHAMP: What else can we expect from Jenny?

Jenny: Expect the world from me, Jenny! I stop for no one, and I do as I please.

Call it what you want but I’m going to do it all! My heart is in entertainment, so continue to watch cause I’ma keep on doing ME!

Anyhow, for all my fans, supporters, friends, etc Check out my website at

www.JennyJC.com and my Blog at http://MsJennyJC.blogspot.com. Thank you Champ for putting me on! Thanks to God, my family, friends, all my fans and supporters along the way!
