SPOTLIGHT: SIC OSYRUS EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Sic Osyrus
The Boy Hollywood

CHAMP: What’s Goodie Sic? What are you up to right now?

SIC OSYRUS: I’m good man, just working on some new records. Still promoting the cd ‘Sic O Nomics’ Vol 2 hosted by Bedtyme357 (Remy Ma’s DJ and mine) Staying hungry and passionate about my music. I just got nominated for UMA for Buzz artist of the year.

CHAMP: Now first off the name is definitely some crazy type name. Where was the origin of that and why did you choose to adopt that name?

SIC OSYRUS: The Osyrus part of the name is special to me because my cousin UN gave it to me before he past. I was kind of a knucklehead in school, always banging on lunch table, so they called me Psycho, it ended up shortening to Sic. I gave my son the name Osyrus too.

CHAMP: Now growing up in West Philly what were some of your musical influences and who you say you adopted some of your elements of style from?

SIC OSYRUS: A lot of my influences come from my personal experiences. I don’t talk it unless I lived it. Musically my influences are both KRS one and Redman.

CHAMP: Now Freck Billionaire I believe is also from West Philly which is know as probably the hardest section in Philly what is your relationship with not only Freck but a cat like Omillio Sparks as well?

SIC OSYRUS: I don’t have a personal relationship with either. My manager did reach out to Frecks mgr for a 16 on this ‘Spit It For Philly’ remix, we already have E Ness, Reed Dollaz and 2ew Gunn Ciz on there, so hopefully he will still get down. I know Shabazz, Omilio’s mgr, he saw me perform in Philly and had some good things to say.

CHAMP: Now everyone has a story of how they got to where they’re at now and I’m interested in finding out how Sic got to the status your at now and what moves you made to get here?

SIC OSYRUS: It was a long trip and it still is. I’m in a place where people are starting to know me on the sites and blogs, dvds, mags and mixtapes. I also have to say I have a great team, they handle all my logistics and that allows me to focus on my craft. Big shouts to J Hatch, Drawzilla, Bedtyme357, Khadejia, Jules, Tone, Jap, and Matt.

CHAMP: Now for a person reading this interview right now and is about to go limewire your name or myspace you to hear your work what can they expect to hear and take in from Sic Osyrus?

SIC OSYRUS: They can expect to hear something raw, and personal

CHAMP: Now if you were to put yourself as a captain of a ” on the come up” ball team which other 4 rappers on the come up would you want playing on your team right now and why?

SIC OSYRUS: Skyzoo would def be on there because of his emcee skills and grind, Sha Stimuli as well due to his ability to rock a crowd and wordplay.
Donny Goines because of his hustle and work ethic. I did records with all 3 of these cats. 4th would probably be my dude Banga who just won that Hot 97 contest at Summer Jam. There are a few others like Marvelous Magnum, my homie Big Apple, Esso, Nina B etc.

CHAMP: What projects are you currently working on and when we expect those projects out?

SIC OSYRUS: Sic O Nomics 2.5 is gearing up for late summer release and I’m working towards an album. Currently I am in the studio with some legends right now Buckwild and Rocwilder, as well as platin producers like Vinny Idol and Amadeus, and got my in house producer Drawzilla who’s done most of my joints, as well as Oz, Static, Raf Moses and DJ Kep. I’m about to flood the sites with some new music next week and stay in the visibility on the net.

CHAMP: When is Sic Osyrus gonna hit up Toronto, Canada and rock a show or even come hit up our radio station and do something live up here?

SIC OSYRUS: Let me know when and I’m there homie.

Hit me up at myspace.com/sicosyrus1
